Meet our Founder

Before (8).png

Welcome! If you're anything like me, you may have started off disliking math. In fact I was tracked to fail. I was placed in the lowest 7th grade class and was not expected to do very much in life. My life changed when I asked my mom to help me get into a 7th grade class that would allow me to play an instrument.

My mother was told that the instrument program was only offered to gifted and talented so I would not be able to play.  My mother fought and got me in a gifted program so I could play the clarinet. Not only did I get to play music but I was also exposed to a math teacher named, Mr. Waxman, who helped me see that math can be fun. His creative methods led to me becoming a teacher, earning math awards for teaching, appearing on PBS channel 13 to teach teachers, becoming a math director of a large school district and becoming a math author of a math children’s book. I am grateful but my story SHOULD NOT be the exception. I made it my mission to give the gift of creativity in math to other students and teachers  for over 24 years.  Now I want to give back on a larger scale by offering our C.I.M. method to thousands of districts.

In 2015, Creative Intelligent Me was born with the belief that everyone is Creative and Intelligent in their own way and everyone is able to learn math if taught Creatively!
